Day 5

Castle at the hill top

The narrow pebble road leading to the castle seemed like a winding ribbon, prompting us to pause several times and consult our map for directions. With an afternoon boat to catch for our journey to Ireland, time was of the essence, necessitating a brief visit. The sky was a breathtaking canvas, and the patchwork farms of South Wales resembled an emerald tapestry under the brilliant sunlight. Ascending the hill, the castle ruins emerged into view. Navigating the narrow corridors to the lower part of the castle, we faced a small mishap as Janly slipped and hurt her wrist—fortunately, not too painful. The vista from the castle’s apex was truly magnificent, offering a priceless and grand view.
